The PCB assembly desk, run end to end

The reality
The schedule is only as good as the last shortage report, and the report is always behind.
A work order lands and the planner pulls a shortage report against the BOM, kits what is on hand, and slots the build. Then an allocated part hits zero stock, a customer calls for an expedite, and a first-article report is due before anything ships. Each of those is a buyer chasing a broker, a planner reshuffling the line, and a quality engineer hand-compiling IPC records from test data. The order desk fields the status calls in between.
None of it is hard. It is just constant, and it all runs through people who already have a full queue. So the only way the desk has ever absorbed more orders, more change requests, or a tighter market is by adding more planners and buyers and quality staff.

03
Purchasing & supply chain
Covers BOM gaps when an allocated part hits zero stock, sources through authorized distributors or the broker market, places the PO, and tracks delivery to keep the line fed.
See the operator−55% of buyer hours on spot-buy coordination

04
Quality & compliance documentation
Compiles the IPC-A-610 inspection records, test reports, and first-article submissions so the build ships with a complete, traceable documentation package.

The after
The desk keeps pace with the order book, not the headcount.
Operators handle the routine intake, scheduling, sourcing, and documentation so your team works the exceptions that actually need judgment.
- Schedule changes from a shortage or expedite reprioritized the same day, not at the next planning meeting
- BOM gaps sourced and on a tracked PO before they become a line-down event
- Builds ship with the IPC and first-article documentation already compiled
